JOYOUS EXPRESSSIONIST ARTIST

Carmel Marrinan a former Gallerist and Designer is now a full time expressionist artist. Carmel's work investigates the dymnamic relationship between matter, colour and the surrounding environment.

Her work has been compared to the Fauves and the Expressionists from the beginning of the 20th century with big bold brushstrokes and strong bright intense colours.It's all about abstraction, form and the expressive symbolic function of colour. A joyous observation of the beautiful world we inhabit.

Inspiration has been found from her travels in particular Italy and West Cork where she spends much of her time

In her artist statement Carmel says 'We all come from our own individual perspective in how we view and how we create. The magic occurs when what we see is what we love, sometimes inexplicably. That often immediate connection between the artists work and the viewer fascinates me. '

Carmel works both in her studio in Dublin and in Kinsale, Co Cork. and is presently enjoying great success with her paintings in private collections in Ireland, London and Europe.
